You should all be given credit for watching. I just didn't have the stomach for it. The older I get the more particular I become.

All I can say is that I'm glad I've seen this through to the end painful though it was. I would compare it to a visit to Dentists-you know it's going to hurt but it's something that has to be done!

What with Indians who never went anywhere near that part of Texas and were peaceable by 1836, Officers uniforms that appear to have come from a costume collection left over from a film set in the War Between The States .. complete with 1840 or 1860 Light Cavalry Sabres. Its many a year since I visited San Antonio .. but as I recall the countryside was relatively green and wooded .. not semi desert with huge rock outcrops and large mountains beyond. I couldn't even manage Dave's suggestion to just see it as a 'western melodrama' .. the drama values are just about on a level with the production values! I can see why it didn't go down well in Texas .. I'm equally amazed that the Production Company were not sued by the Mexican Government !!

Don't feel bad DP.  I felt confident enough after the first episode.  Near the end of the second episode, something more important came up.  So, I went to the kitchen, drank a sand-milkshake, and never bothered finishing up.

There is a difference between "sopping up" a good fiction...and gagging on bu11shit.
